Treadflix! The Treadmill Running Fix

To those of you who are new to Keeping Pace - WELCOME! If you've been here a while, thanks for sticking around!

You may have noticed a break in our monthly newsletters for some time now. It’s actually been a forced break while I've been involved in an extremely hectic and exciting roller coaster ride of a project for the last year which I’m dying to share. First though I would like to confirm the resumption of Keeping Pace monthly with lots of helpful training articles and great recipes lined up this coming year beginning in early January. We’re going to kick things off with a training article about making your own running program for half and full marathon training as well as some tips on running to lose weight (or ‘losing weight to run’) which is usually a popular topic this time of year.

In other news, I’m excited to announce an official product launch for a super cool product that I've been fortunate to help develop called ’TREADFLIX’. Treadflix are movies designed to be used while running on the treadmill that go beyond simply entertaining you to pass the time. Treadflix videos actually deliver training benefits. The videos are shot in HD and take you from the true start lines to the finish lines and all of the streets in between through 3 of the world’s most popular marathon courses including Boston, New York and Chicago.

The videos cue each mile marker and elevation changes as you would actually experience them if you were to be running the course.

More than this though, there was a soundtrack created of about 2 hours of custom running music set between 90 and 96 bpm/sspm (single steps per minute) to encourage brisk cadence while running to the videos. So, you get the sights, sounds, and feel of running these great courses right from a treadmill. You can use these videos as training tools to get ready for the marathons, help you to qualify for Boston, or just to experience what it would be like to run the course.

There are 1 and 2 hour run time versions of each video, so you have a couple of options based on the type of run you’re looking to get done. The videos also come in various formats including USB stick (for smart TVs or laptops), DVD s, or by individual download!
